Review
This book took me for a wonderfully twisted ride and kept me riveted to the pages. I find that I either really love stories like this one or I find myself quickly losing interest, so I was incredibly happy to find that this one fell into the former category. It’s that perfect blend of creepy, action, and mystery that just leaves you waiting to find out what comes next.
When I first read the synopsis I thought this story had the potential of being Stephen King kind of creepy/bizarre. And it did but with the authors own take on that and personal style of writing. Which I am incredibly glad for because we already have King so I wanted something new (you know?). And honestly this is just a really well written book that I think delivered on all of its promises.
So yeah, you should definitely give this book a go if you want some atmospheric but realistic creepy scenes. I can’t really say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

“Every five or ten years you’ll read a book that’ll grip you from start to end and you’ll find you’re up at 3am in the morning bewitched by the plot, the characters, and the setting. Have You Seen Me? is one such book, the pace is frenetic, urgent, and comes across as vividly telegenic. It takes a truly talented and masterful author to craft a novel which creates a three-dimensional drama inside your mind. Alexandrea Weis is one of the most talented authors around, she straddles several genres, and in a short time her novels are destined to stand along with authors such as Stephen King, Gillian Flynn, Joyce Carol Oates, and Jeffery Deaver.” —The Strand Magazine
“With atmosphere, mercurial threats, and intrigue, Alexandrea Weis excels in probing the psychological undertones of the prep school and a new teacher’s return to her past. She also does a fine job of evolving the plot that connects students and teachers to an unpredictable truth. As school and local history are revealed by the determined team, readers receive an eerie feel of inevitable disaster much in the manner of the classic film ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’. The buildup that leads to the truth about the killer’s identity makes for a fine story that will reach from young adult to adult audiences with a winning exploration of prep school pressures, politics, and the special interests that lead to murder. Very nicely done.” —D. Donovan, Senior Editor, Midwest Book Review
“Riveting, fast paced thriller wrapped up in a mystery. Is history repeating itself or is it a coincidence? Alexandrea Weis slowly peels away layer after layer to reveal the truth. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it even if you don’t usually read thrillers.” —Erin E. Forys, Barnes and Noble, Williamsburg, VA
“Alexandrea Weis addresses cultural issues such as class systems, race, and bullying all the while providing chilling and spooky imagery that is sure to have all readers begging the question: “Who will be next?” A thrilling spine-tingling novel Have You Seen Me? had my heart racing on every page.” —Tanya Roberts @bookswihtanya, CER at Indigo Books, Québec Canada

Review
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared a review! Lately I’ve just been doing school work, watch anime, working, binge reading manga at night, and repeat. But I’m back for this review and I’m excited to actually share something and talk books with you guys! Also, any TXT fans out there? Cause the title has sent the “can’t you see me?” line deep into my gnat attention spanned brain and I’ve been jamming out to that song every time I even think about this book. BUT ANYWAYS, whenever I start a new book I always look at the reviews first (I know, I know, I’m a terrible person who actually enjoys spoilers) and I saw one review that compared this to Lois Duncan and honestly, as soon as I saw that I knew I was set for this book.
And while looking at said reviews I also saw a lot of people mentioning the “predictability” in this story, and to that I say so? To me this book is more about the story and suspense compared to a rousing who-dun-it story. The characters grow and you grow to like them as you unravel the mysteries. And even if you can guess the ending (which honestly, I RARELY find a book where I can’t do that) it’s still just a highly enjoyable story!
So yeah, I went into this book expecting to enjoy it and I left thoroughly amused and ready for this one to be my “review comeback.” It’s also the perfect story to get me even more in the mood for fall weather (that is if I EVER get any) and spooky season!

Review
XOXO, Gossip Girl. Ok, now that that’s out of the way (I’m sorry, I HAD to), back to the review. This was a book that I picked up, took on look at, read the synopsis, and said yeah, this is a me book. I mean my kpop addled brain was just in bliss. And the romance was just perfect.
And while I came for the plot I stayed for the characters. I just really fell in love with our leads and couldn’t help but root for them. Plus all of the other characters were well developed and draw you in to fall in love with them as well. But even though I did fall for the characters the plot I was oh so interested in did not fail to meet my cheesy kdrama-y expectations. It was a story with a lot of fun, some heartbreak, and alllll the drama.
So yeah, this book was a complete win for me. I knew I would love it but it also didn’t disappoint me when I started reading (you all know how that sad tale goes). And it’s also up there as one of my favorite reads this year!

“You ever have the feeling that if you don’t read something, you may be missing out on something momentous happening? . . . I got that vibe from the first page of The Freedom Race. It has a prescience about it in the tradition of Octavia Butler. . . . If ‘resilience’ was a book, it would be The Freedom Race.” ―Maurice Broaddus, author of Buffalo Soldier
“Roy (The Hotel Alleluia) turns to speculative fiction for the first time with this lyrical, Afrofuturist hero’s quest set in the not-too-distant future. …[Ji-Ji’s] harrowing but profoundly spiritual quest for sovereignty against all odds impresses. Readers … will appreciate both the tenacious heroine and Roy’s intricate prose stylings.” ―Publishers Weekly
“The future Lucinda Roy calls up in The Freedom Race is a fierce, unsettling riff on our past and present. Review
This is the kind of book that I have missed as of late. For a long time we had a surplus of dystopian books and then they just seemed to one day vanish. And this speculative fiction book fit what I missed about those books and put a modern twist on the genre. It also has just that right amount of horror added in at the thought of how easily something like this could actually occur.
This book is a tough read because it shows us the things we don’t want to imagine. Also given *waves at everything* going on in the world it’s also pushing a bit on the more realistic side of the genre. Which is something I don’t think anyone wants to see. And the thought and detail put into this book and story make it all the more palpable. So yeah, this one had me from the first line and I just couldn’t look away.
I definitely think that this is not only an important read, but something that we could all take a little something away from. But even that aside it’s a really amazing story and one that you will just want to read more and more about.

Review
I was SO HAPPY to see this book! I read A Song Below Water last year and instantly fell in love with the unique world, so I am so happy to be revisiting this author and story. I also love love love the switch in perspective for this book! You know I’m a sucker for a good morally grey character.
I think what I like most about these books is that they’re so well blended. We’ve got an amazing story, a unique world, and some current issues addressed that we see in todays world. Plus the characters are written so well for the intended audience. We see teenagers acting like teenagers instead of the almost “too” mature ones you sometimes see in YA.
These books just hit that right spot that makes me happy while reading and I, as last year, look forward to seeing what Morrow puts out next! There’s a lot to love in this story and I actually might have liked it a little more than the first!

Review
I have to admit, me and stories about carnivals have a love hate relationship. I think it’s mostly because I have such a fondness for the setting that I wind up being overly critical. And books about carnivals are, by nature, twisted and sometimes I think that stories just twist a different way than I do. BUT, I actually really enjoyed this one (YASSSS) and found myself falling into the meandering story.
This book is written incredibly descriptively, and sometimes that means it got away a little bit from the plot. But honestly, I love that kind of writing so it was right up my alley (gimme some world building and all the *atmosphere*). Plus the story was creepy and historical and just made a typical carnival based story that much more interesting. There was that added layer of depth that added to the twisted nature of the story.
I really enjoyed this one, and I’m really glad I did. I feel like I have been slugging through carnival based stories lately and this one was such a nice pick me up. It was just the right blend of atmospheric descriptions and plot to keep me wanting to find out more.

Review
I was honestly surprised at how excited I was to read this one! Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I wasn’t thrilled to see this book it’s just that I’m so shocked at just how much I enjoy this series when it’s something that is typically out of my reading comfort zone. But there’s something about these books that are just so good and alluring!
This book is just as good as the first and I loved being able to follow up with all of the characters (plus some new additions). The story really takes off right from the start and off we go on another adventure. But what I think I like most about this series is the sense of realness to it. Like, clearly, the subject matter isn’t QUITE something you see every day, but in the same sense… we’re not far off are we? But anyways, what I really meant is that the characters are so relatable. They’re living breathing humans that have their quirks and their individuality instead of the overly… everything… we sometimes see in books. And I think that that’s why I find this series so fresh.
This was definitely a wonderful follow up book and I really look forward to seeing what Kritzer comes up with next! I mean anyone who can get me out of my reading comfort zone AND make me fall in love with it on top of it is someone to watch!

This book was right up my alley! You know, that very niche alley that everyone has. And I am glad to say that it didn’t disappoint! I was so invested in the story throughout and I just thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this one. Plus it’s just so bizarre, which I of course love an appreciate.
This is just one of those books that you’re going to find difficult to put down. Now, I can’t get into it too much cause spoilers would be a no-no but this world is so complex. And as more and more unfolds you’re going to be lured even further into the book. Plus there is a dark undercurrent throughout the story that creates a… purpose?… to the plot.
Down World really blew me away and provided me with something that felt fresh. Which I really needed right now because I’ve been *mildly* slumping for what feels like forever lately.

Emil and Brighton Rey defied the odds. They beat the Blood Casters and escaped with their lives–or so they thought. When Brighton drank the Reaper’s Blood, he believed it would make him invincible, but instead the potion is killing him.
In Emil’s race to find an antidote that will not only save his brother but also rid him of his own unwanted phoenix powers, he will have to dig deep into the very past lives he’s trying to outrun. Though he needs the help of the Spell Walkers now more than ever, their ranks are fracturing, with Maribelle’s thirst for revenge sending her down a dangerous path.
Meanwhile, Ness is being abused by Senator Iron for political gain, his rare shifting ability making him a dangerous weapon. As much as Ness longs to send Emil a signal, he knows the best way to keep Emil safe from his corrupt father is to keep him at a distance.
The battle for peace is playing out like an intricate game of chess, and as the pieces on the board move into place, Emil starts to realize that he may have been competing against the wrong enemy all along.
Has this week both been THE LONGEST week and flown by at the same time or is that just me? I feel like I’m just losing all sense of time but I’m super glad I’m getting in this review today! Because I really love these books. And I may have been waiting for Infinity Reaper since last year. Just saying. And dare I say it… I may have loved this one even more than book one!
You know why I love these books so much? It’s simple, the world building is just divine. Plus I mean the story is amazing too but you know, priorities. And I just love that I got to know even more about this complex world in Infinity Reaper. But this picks right up following book two and we are taken on an adventure that is going to make you go through some emotions so buckle up!
Sorry this review may be a smidge shorter than normal, but my brain feels like it’s about to implode so I’m leaving it at this. Remember, I’m losing all sense of time. Plus allergies. So. Much. Pollen. But anyways, GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT ASAP!

Book Title: Covet Author: Tracy Wolff Publisher: Entangled Teen Release Date: March 2, 2021 Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Paranormal, Fantasy
“I choose you.”
— Tracy Wolff
I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.
Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all…
Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?
And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon’s turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.
Choices will have to be made…and I fear not everyone will survive.
“Everything’s a secret, Grace, whether we know it or not.”
— Tracy Wolff
The Crave series is best enjoyed in order.
Reading Order: Book #1 Crave Book #2 Crush Book #3 Covet Book #4 Court
You know, when Crave first came out my middle school Twilight obsessed self squealed in anticipation. And I had still been squealing in anticipation for Covet as well. This series just never disappoints and I can legitimately blame it on many sleepless nights. Plus there’s just so many twists and turns that continue to make the series interesting instead of one of those series where you know what’s going to happen throughout the entire series just after the first book.
“There’s just him and me and everything remembered and forgotten that stretches between us.”
— Tracy Wolff
You know what I think sets this series apart from other YA series? It’s the fact that everything is just so well set up and then all your hopes and dreams are Crushed (heh heh, see what I did there? Yes, I know I need sleep). And it’s not even that you wind up hating the characters like in some other 180-degree ya/fantasy books (you know which ones), which makes this even more wild because it’s reflective of life in a way. And I guess what I’m trying to say is that I really appreciate that. Things change. People change. And our relationships change. Which is something you don’t often see portrayed after our character finds their *true one.* But yeah, this review got off the rails but I also don’t want to spoil anything. But just expect the same top tier storytelling, lots of Drama WITH a capital D, and So. Much. Happening.
“Because of who you really are.”
— Tracy Wolff
So you know how we’ve all been *im*patiently waiting for Covet? Well, I still want more. And I would still do some . . . unseemly . . . things to get my hand on Court. It’s just I kind of need to know what’s going to happen and how this will all turn out. But it’s ok. We don’t have THAT long to wait. Right? Yep. Just gotta keep telling myself that. And in the meantime I hope you all read this and join me in feeling this way.
