About the Book

Book Title: Covet
Author: Tracy Wolff
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Release Date: March 2, 2021
Genres: Young Adult, Romance, Paranormal, Fantasy

“I choose you.”

— Tracy Wolff

I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.

Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all…

Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?

And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon’s turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.

Choices will have to be made…and I fear not everyone will survive.

“Everything’s a secret, Grace, whether we know it or not.”

— Tracy Wolff

The Crave series is best enjoyed in order.

Review

You know, when Crave first came out my middle school Twilight obsessed self squealed in anticipation. And I had still been squealing in anticipation for Covet as well. This series just never disappoints and I can legitimately blame it on many sleepless nights. Plus there’s just so many twists and turns that continue to make the series interesting instead of one of those series where you know what’s going to happen throughout the entire series just after the first book.

“There’s just him and me and everything remembered and forgotten that stretches between us.”

— Tracy Wolff

You know what I think sets this series apart from other YA series? It’s the fact that everything is just so well set up and then all your hopes and dreams are Crushed (heh heh, see what I did there? Yes, I know I need sleep). And it’s not even that you wind up hating the characters like in some other 180-degree ya/fantasy books (you know which ones), which makes this even more wild because it’s reflective of life in a way. And I guess what I’m trying to say is that I really appreciate that. Things change. People change. And our relationships change. Which is something you don’t often see portrayed after our character finds their *true one.* But yeah, this review got off the rails but I also don’t want to spoil anything. But just expect the same top tier storytelling, lots of Drama WITH a capital D, and So. Much. Happening.

“Because of who you really are.”

— Tracy Wolff

So you know how we’ve all been *im*patiently waiting for Covet? Well, I still want more. And I would still do some . . . unseemly . . . things to get my hand on Court. It’s just I kind of need to know what’s going to happen and how this will all turn out. But it’s ok. We don’t have THAT long to wait. Right? Yep. Just gotta keep telling myself that. And in the meantime I hope you all read this and join me in feeling this way.

Crave Review

About the Book

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

Review

Did I drop everything just to binge read this book? Oh, you bet your hiney I did! I tried telling myself to behave and let it wait it’s turn…. But I failed… And then pulled an all nighter to devour it all. So, you can probably tell I REALLY enjoyed this book! I also REALLY need the second one like yesterday.

So, is Crave basically a Twilight retelling down to having a similar cover? YEP. Am I mad about that? HECK NO! I mean, it’s about time I get some more yummy vampires to obsess over! I mean, it’s only been how long since I’ve been royally upset that the vampire craze seemed to vanish overnight?

So, this book has all of the angst and perfection of Twilight but without the sparkles and adding in some dragons instead. YAS. THANK YOU! There are also some witches and it alludes to even more supernatural creatures. Which has me so excited to see what is in store for the rest of this series (have I mentioned I need the second book ASAP? Yes? Oh, well, it’s true)!

This book was a very fast burn enemies to insta lovers type of ordeal. You did not have to spend 75% of the book waiting for the romance to kick off and we were graced with a couple of *steamy* scenes. Let me just say I will never think of the phrase, “bite me” the same after this. Let’s just say Jaxon has the ability to go from a sarcastic bad boy to a dawww inducing cinnamon roll in minutes and I found myself going between lol-ing and feeling the need to protect at all costs throughout this book.

So, before this review turns into me just fangirling over the main characters I will leave it at this: READ IT! Especially if you are like me and are a sucker for Twilight. You’ll love it!

Malice – Review, Dream Cast, & Giveaway

About the Book

Malice by Pintip Dunn
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Release Date: February 4th 2020
Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction

What I know: a boy in my class will one day wipe out two-thirds of the population with a virus.

What I don’t know: who he is.

In a race against the clock, I not only have to figure out his identity, but I’ll have to outwit a voice from the future telling me to kill him. Because I’m starting to realize no one is telling the truth. But how can I play chess with someone who already knows the outcome of my every move? Someone so filled with malice they’ve lost all hope in humanity? Well, I’ll just have to find a way—because now they’ve drawn a target on the only boy I’ve ever loved….

Review

Malice is a high octane sci-fi thriller with a bit of fantasy mixed in. It is such a fun and quick read! A certain character also made me giggle quite a lot, much to my chagrin a few times in class. What can I say? I love some good sarcastic banter. It also goes to show that I was so invested in reading this that I willingly read through class. Not that I would EVER in ANY other circumstance willingly not pay attention.

So I only have Malice as an ebook and I’m kind of sad. AKA, I think Imma buy a physical copy. I mean, it is really pretty! And even though I don’t have any shelf space left I DO reread books with characters who make me giggle a lot…. Probably more than I should. Which leads me to how I wasn’t sure if I would love this book. Throughout the years I have been wary of sci-fi. I don’t know why, but it’s just not something I always naturally love. BUT, this year I decided was going to be the year that I really get into this genre. And I’m so glad I chose Malice for this! It was the perfect selection and with the wit, the banter, and the thriller-esque experience I was absolutely hooked!

I loved the diversity amongst the characters. It was diversity without including diversity for diversity’s sake. PHEW, that was a lot of diversities! But it’s something that continuously frustrates me while reading, when you can tell that an author includes diversity just to say they did. So I really appreciated the flawless addition of diversity in Malice. Each character was their own unique person!

Dream Cast

So, I think I have found my niche in dream casts! I also just might like making mood boards. Who knows, I sure don’t! So, I hope you like my dream cast selections! I definitely went with a color based *aesthetic* this time, I guess I was just feeling the pastels.
